One of the several projects based on the Ar 234 was the Jager, a heavily armed version for a day fighter. The standard airframe remained virtually unchanged, with only the pilot's section redesigned. It had a traditional solid nose with the cockpit featuring conventional windscreen and sliding hood. Armament was entirely different. It consisted of three 30 mm MK 108 cannon in a ventral pod (known as Magirusbombe) and single MG 151/20s in pods under the engine nacelles. One or two more cannons would be fitted in the fuselage to fire backwards.
